Review: Dubya

Dubya

I was left wondering quite why was this made? Not quite what I was expecting as I was thinking it would be leading up to his presidency and what made him the president he is, but in fact the film casts him in a new light and redeems him a little. Rumsfeld and Cheney however come out badly.

The British actors, Thandie Newton as Condoleeza Rice and Ioin Griffiths as Blair, in the film were for some reason atrociously awful, much worse than the rest of the cast.

The film is the story of a religious fundamentalist for whom belief trumps facts.
Believes he has done the right thing and though he admits that he may have made mistakes I’m sure he has no idea what they might be.

What was Stone thinking? Far too soon for this film, need several years before you can start reflecting upon these recent events. The only reasoning seemed to be, get it made and in cinemas before the end of the presidency and the inevitable influx of books and documentaries etc.
