Con man or Taliban agent?
As many people have believed for years it seems that the US is not perfect at identifying members of the Taliban.
Although to be fair American officials say that they were skeptical that the man claiming to be Mullah Mansour was really who he said he was. Nevertheless he managed to convince enough people for long enough to not only meet President Hamid Karzai, but also make off with a substantial amount of money that was supposed to facilitate the brokering of peace.
Still unsure as to the man’s true identity there is speculation that the con man might actually be a Taliban agent.
